What CCTV services does Satmz provide?

Three things, and you can buy any of them on their own. We install complete CCTV systems — cameras, recorders, cabling, remote viewing and analytics. We extend systems you already have, whether that is covering a blind spot, adding a recorder, or buying back weeks of retention. And we look after cameras day to day: monitored 24/7, fixed when they fail, with footage pulled for you whenever you need it. Everything is scoped and priced before it starts.

Can your cameras detect theft and send alerts?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A plain camera only records — it tells you what happened after you have already lost the stock. We deploy analytics on top of the cameras so the system recognises what it is seeing and raises an alert in real time: someone entering a restricted area, loitering by high-value stock, a door held open, movement on site out of hours. Alerts reach your team by app or email the moment they fire, so you can act while it is happening rather than reviewing footage the next morning. We also tune the sensitivity after go-live, because an alert system that cries wolf gets ignored within a week.

Do you monitor our cameras, or do we have to check them ourselves?

We monitor them. This is the single biggest failure in CCTV: a camera drops off the network, a disk fills up, or a recorder quietly stops writing, and nobody notices until the week someone actually needs the footage — by which point the incident was never recorded. Under a support plan every camera and recorder is watched around the clock, and a device that stops reporting becomes a ticket we raise with you rather than a discovery you make later.

What happens when a camera or recorder stops working?

Accepted Answer

You raise a request — or more often we raise it first, because we saw it go dark. An engineer diagnoses whether it is the camera, the cabling, the recorder, the network, or the power, and fixes it. Cameras that are offline, blurred, knocked out of position, or blind at night are all support work, as are failed overnight recordings, full disks, and recorders that need firmware. Requests are unlimited and there is no per-callout fee.

Can you get us footage for an incident, insurance claim, or police report?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and it is included in a support plan rather than billed as an extra. Tell us the site, the date, and roughly the time, and we retrieve and export the footage in a usable format. This is the moment CCTV either proves its value or turns out to have been broken for a month — which is exactly why we monitor recording continuously rather than waiting for you to ask.

How long is footage kept, and can we keep it for longer?

Accepted Answer

Retention depends on how many cameras you have, what resolution they record at, and how much storage sits behind them — it is a storage question, not a settings question. We can tell you what your current system actually holds, tune retention to get the most out of it, and if you need a specific period for a policy or a regulator, expand the recording storage as a change so the system genuinely keeps that long.

Can you look after CCTV across multiple branches?

Yes, and this is what most of our retail clients buy. Every branch is monitored from one place, with remote viewing across all sites and one support plan covering the estate. If you are opening new branches, Branch Opening installs and configures the CCTV alongside the rest of the branch technology, and Branch Support keeps it all running afterwards — priced per branch so it scales as you add sites.

Do you work with our existing cameras, or do we have to replace everything?

Accepted Answer

We work with what you have. Most sites already have cameras, and there is rarely a good reason to rip them out. We take over monitoring and support of the existing system, extend it where the coverage has gaps, and only recommend replacement where a camera genuinely cannot do the job — night coverage it was never specified for, or resolution too low to identify anyone.

How is CCTV work priced?

Support is priced per device, per month — each camera, recorder, and viewing station we look after — with unlimited requests included. Installing a new system or adding analytics is a one-off project, priced on the size of the job: how many cameras and recorders, and how much of it is a new build. Extending a system you already have — more cameras, another recorder, more storage — is priced the same way and is usually far smaller. You see the estimate before you commit, with the final price confirmed at a short scoping step.
